MEET FRED HARRAN
I am proud of the work we have done in Bucks County—not just in keeping our communities safe, but also in providing essential services that enhance the quality of life for our residents.
Since taking office as Sheriff, I have expanded the department's ability to serve warrants and apprehend wanted criminals by adding new deputies to the force. I have also modernized the Sheriff's Office, implementing new technology to enhance crime-fighting efforts and improve efficiency.
Recognizing that public safety is about more than just enforcement, I have worked to expand access to mental health and addiction services, helping those in need while reducing crime in our communities
My approach has always been to think outside the box—fostering strong partnerships with other agencies and engaging directly with the community to ensure Bucks County remains a safe place to live, work, and raise a family. I look forward to continuing to serve and protect our residents with dedication and integrity.
A Track Record of Success
- Served our community with more than 37 years of law enforcement experience in Bucks County
- Added 14 Sheriff's Deputies to serve warrants and take wanted criminals off our streets
- Reduced the inherited backlog of unserved warrants by over 1,000
- Earned State Accreditation for the Sheriff's Office
- Partnered with the Drug and Alcohol Commission to expand access to mental health and addiction services
- Provided the first School Resource Officer from the Sheriff's Department to keep our students safe
- Expanded the Mobile Gun Permitting Program
- Started the first Sheriff's K9 Unit
- Secured funding for new technology, including bodycams for Sheriff's Deputies and DNA testing
- Initiated the “Making Old Glory New Again” flag exchange program distributing new American Flags in exchange for old, torn and tattered flags
